    אמר ר׳ שלמה בן משה אליגירין המעתיק. הרים יעתיק ממני כל שגיעות בהעתקת זה הספר. אמר ארסטו דעתי לבאר סבות השינה יהקיצה והסכמתה עם עצמו לחפש חדרי השימה והקיצה ולומר מה הן. אם הנה פעולות מיוחדות בסגלה לנפש לבד או לגוף לבד או אם הן סגלות משותפות לכן הנפש והגוף. ואם הם משותפות מאיזה חלק מחלקי הגוף או מחלקי הנפש הם ועל מה נמצא אלה הסגולות בבעלי חיים מרגישים.
