Detailed Description
  • Decoration:
    Larger initials depicted in gold and various colours, the first one on f. 2r ornated with a picture of a king. The other smaller ones are in alternating red and blue. The titles are not coloured, but rubrics in minium can frequently be found within the text. On ff. 26r and 70r one can see basic geometric drawings on the right margin. On ff. 103r , 106r , 107r and 107v one can see some larger and more elaborate drawings, the first one within the main text, the others in the margins.
  • Layout:
    Text is set in two columns.

    About 50 lines to the page in ff. 2r- 211v , except for ff. 113r and 161v .

    Ff. 35v , 41r and 93v are without script. Ff. 41v and 113v are without main text, but have annotations in the margins.

  • Hand Description:
    Text is written most elegantly by multiple Italian hands in a blackish colour.
  • Provenance:
    The codex was in Pavia ("in studio Papiensi") in 1395, cf. f. 161v . Thereafter, if George Lacombe is not mistaken, it was in the Bibliotheca Ducum Mediolanensium in Pavia (cf. on f. 1r : IIII tab. philosophie, liber VIII ).
