By tracing the origins of his doctrine back to Alexander of Aphrodisias, it shows that Averroes conceives act and potency as concomitant attributes of being qua being and as terms \u03c0\u03c1\u1f78\u03c2 \u1f15\u03bd and \u1f00\u03c6\u2019 \u1f11\u03bd\u03cc\u03c2.
