  • Hand Description:
    One Spanish hand in Judeo Arabic (Sephardic italic); the manuscript is carefully written.
    In the collophon of Item 1 (f. 23r ) the date and the name of the scribe ( Gattinio (גאטניו) ) are given.
    There is some confusion between the letters ك ، ب ، ف / ב , כ , פ as well as between د ، ر / ד , ר . On the other hand, ح ، ج / ה , ג or ي ، ت are clearly distinct. The last mentioned letters, however, are repeatedly confused (mainly at the beginning of the 3rd person imperfect), presumably due to grammatical uncertainty.
    The manuscript seems to be copied based on a text in Arabic letters (for a detailed discussion see Eichner ).
  • Provenance:
    The manuscript is already listed in the "Inventario delli libri della libraria della bo. me. del Sr. Card. di Carpi", dated May 16th, 1564 ; .for more details see Bernheimer (introduction p. IX).
    There is a close relation to Ms. Paris, Bibliothèque Nationale, hébr.1009 which is proofed philologically but also by the similar content order.
