Detailed Description
  • Condition Description:
    The manuscript was damaged in great measure by water. Also the margins of the folios are very damaged.
  • Decoration:
    The initial letters and pictures are painted in an oriental manner. Simple initials are painted alternating in red and blue. Taller initials on ff. 1r , 6v ; 12r ; 17r ; 28r ; 32v ; 39r ; 43r . The initial on f. 1r shows a man reading in a book.
  • Layout:
    Text is set in 2 columns.


  • Hand Description:
    The text is written by one hand in Gothic textualis, rotund letters of a type from Bonn. A name of a writer is not transmitted.
    Three hands wrote glosses in italic Kurrent.
  • Provenance:
    A former owner was the Bibliotheca Regia in Buda until the pillage of the library through the Turkish Emperors, from which one Abdul Hamid II. from 1877 on was. Then the manuscript was donated to the University.
