Detailed Description
  • Decoration:
We have titles in the top margins. Initials are coloured in red and blue. The very first letter of the initials is decorated in the Gallic way, with a picture of a teacher and a student, accompanied in the margin by ivy leaves and a picture of a dog chasing a stag. Otherwise, we have many small pictures at the bottom of the page, partly cut off (cf. ff. 36v , 60v , 84v , 94v , 134v , 146v , 158v , 170v , 182v , 194v , 206v and 231v ). We have drawings to illustrate the text on ff. 109v , 105r and 111r- 112r , all except the first at least partly within the written area.
  • Layout:
Text is set in two columns, in most parts.

43 lines to the page, except for the end of the codex (around 52 lines to the page on ff. 317r - 324v).

No script on ff. 232v and 315v . Ff. 316r- 316v have some notes and basic drawings, but otherwise no script.
  • Hand Description:
For most parts of the codex, the text is well written by one hand.
  • Provenance:
Another signature (Vat. Lat. 10537) is handwritten on f. x2 , together with the printed "Borghes. 37".
