Detailed Description
  • Decoration:
    Initials in red and blue, the larger ones separately, the minor ones alternating.
  • Layout:
    Text is set in two columns.

  • Hand Description:
    Text is neatly written by one librarian with blackish ink in a weak script.
  • Binding Description:
    Wooden cover with green leather, nearly around the cut, like a girdle book. Ornated metal bosses.
  • Provenance:
    According to Manuscripta medievalia, we have an old incomplete signature "phil. nat." (probably "phil. nat. 11") upside down on the outer binding of the back side.
    On flyleaf IIv, a hand from the 14th century added: "Iste liber est puerorum de Scotia". This is followed by a table of contents and: "... cuius precium .IIII. floreni de Florencia". Thereafter, the older catalogue given in Manuscripta medievalia mentions the note: "per m. de Veteri Campo". Lacombe could not verify this.
