Miscellany

Physical Description
  • Material: Parchment
  • Pages: I + 151 leaves
  • Leaves Format: not available
  • Dimensions: 208 x 140 mm

Detailed Description
  • Collation:
According to Lacombe , the Aristotelian part of this codex has three distinct codicological sections: section 1 (ff. 1r - 17v ), section 2 (ff. 18r - 30v ) and section 3 (ff. 71r -190v) [sic, this exceeds the actual leavescount, probably 150v , instead].
  • Decoration:
In section 1 of the Aristotelian part, the larger letters are missing; in section 2 ornations are missing as well. Section 3 has initial letters in minium, which mark the beginning of the text. Those are missing in the De Anima.
  • Layout:
Text is varyingly set in long lines or two columns.

  • Hand Description:
Text is written by multiple hands.
According to Lacombe , section 1 of the Aristotelian part is written by a German hand in current script of reddish colour. Section 2 is written by a different, but contemporary hand. Section 3 is written by a weak hand of the 13th century in a blackish colour. The latter scribe wrote glosses and emendations to just one text (De Anima).
  • Binding Description:
    Wooden cover with green leather.
  • Provenance:
On the outer side of the front binding, we have the old signature "66. phil. natur." from the library "Collegium Porta Coeli". At the top of f. 63r , we have: "pro II solidis". This is written in the same hand, as the date (1340) on f. 17r .
