  • Decoration:
    Initial letters are painted in golden and other colours. They are decorated by fine pictures (cf. 258r and 306r [sic!]), painted in blue and colours, ornated with red and violet lines.
  • Layout:
    Text is set in 1 column.


  • Hand Description:
    Two Anglican hands worked on the code.
    The commentaries and notes in the lower margin of the folios were made by a lot of hands from England, France and Italy (cf. f. 258r and later). They are dated to the 14th century.
  • Provenance:
    The manuscript is dated to the time before 1253.
    On f. 103v : "... anno gratie M°CC°L° tertio die Cathedre S. Petri recepit Willelmus de Salers XII solidos super istos libros naturales XX petiarum...
    On ff. 2r , 104r , 184r , 210r , 258r , 299r , 306r , 335r and 344r on every page one word is written forming a note of possession from the 14th century: "Iste liber est ad usum fratris Geraudi Carbonelli de ordine fratrum..".
