Detailed Description
  • Foliation:
    The modern foliation starts with the flyleaf.
  • Collation:
    A composite manuscript out of three codicological sections.
    Section 1 (ff. 2r- 92v ): 7 VI^(85) + (III+1). This section contains catchwords.
    Section 2 (ff. 93r- 172v ): (V+1)^103 + 5 VI + (IV+1)^172. In this section, reclaimers are only partly preserved.
    Section 3 (ff. 173r- 256v ): 7 VI. In this section, reclaimers are only partly preserved.
  • Condition Description:
    Title shields on the front and back covers, the title shield on the back cover is heavily damaged.
    The cover insides were loosened and are now detached.
  • Decoration:
    Section 1 and 2 are rubricated and have many red initials as well as red paragraph marks. Section 3 has red and blue initials with filigree in the complementary colour and paragraph marks, also in red and blue. Section 2 and 3 have ink lining.
  • Layout:
    Text is set in two columns.

    F. 90v is without script.
  • Hand Description:
    Text in section 1 is written by one hand in notula.
    Text in section 2 is written by one hand in notula.
    Text in section 3 is written by different hands in textualis.
  • Binding Description:
    Old wood planks covered with brown leather. On front and back cover: Floral tendrils in the middle (single stamp) surrounded by arabesques (roll stamp) and five bosses each. The codex has protective cornerpieces. On the back cover, there are traces of a chain appendage. Parts of the clasps are preserved: Engraved within the metal fastening on the front cover are the letters "WAR".
  • Provenance:
    On the front cover, we have a shield providing a red "D 24" signature. Above this, an old title is given (" Johannes Erphordensis super quartum sententiarum. Lectura notabilis super tertium sententiarum. Questiones quotlibetarie vtiles et probate").
    On f. one can find: "Liber iste constat 42 sol. Erphordensium".
