Detailed Description
  • Decoration:
    The textus are set in tall letters, the commentary in smaller ones. Titles on the top of each page are written in uncial majuscule script. The colour of the script is alternating in red and blue with each letter. In the same style the initials are painted. The initial letters of the Books II-IV are painted by a later hand which also ornated the folios. In the margins one can find the numbers of the chapters written with a pencil.

    The text is set in two columns.


  • Hand Description:
    One librarian worked out the whole text.
  • Provenance:
    On the antefolio a hand of the 16th century wrote: "Liber Cartusiensis in Basilea Minori, proveniens a domino Johanne de Lapide , confratre nostro, continens libros de Celo et Mundo Aristotelis , secundum antiquam translationem, cum commento Averrois ."
