The foliation is made by Giannozzo Manetti , a previous owner of the manuscript in the 15th century.
Paper in the beginning of the manuscript: I. Folio a (foliated in the 20th century, cf. f. x5 ) is an old beginning of the manuscript out of Parchment. An antique foliation from 1-158. On f. 159 the foliation is made by a hand from the 20th century (cf. f. 159r ).
  • Collation:
    7VI^84 + IV^92 + 2V^112 + 2VI^152 + (IV-2)^158 + (I-1)^159
    Continous reclaimers.
  • Decoration:
Intials at the beginning of books are made in opaque colours on blue ground. They are filled with leaves. Red rubrifications, but not all of them are realised. Spaces left free. Titles changing in red and blue. Schemes in the margins illustrate the meaning of the text.
  • Layout:
Text is set in 2 columns. The box with script has the measures:

    39 - 48 lines per column.
  • Hand Description:
The main texts are written by two hands, their origin is Italy.
On f. 46v (Beginning of De caelo) starts a cursive humanistic handwriting, but writes only 19 lines.
The glosses in the marings and interlines are from the 15th century, some of them from Giannozzo Manetti wrining in a cursive humanisctia and a greek minuscule. All texts in the Marings (Greek and Latin) are from him, but some text on f. 159r dated to the 14th century.
  • Provenance:
On f. x6 we can read, that the manuscript belonged to Giannozzo Manetti once: " Iannoçii Manetti . Carte." There is also a table of contents: "In hoc volumine continentur infrascripti libri Aristotelis videlicet physicorum libri iiii, - de progressu animalium." The former owner added: "de partibus animalium libri iiii, de generatione animalium libri v".
Next the manuscript went to the Fuggerlibrary, as we can see their signature on f. x6 : 46.
