  • Foliation:
    Foliation from the 17th or 18th century: Paper in the beginning of the manuscript: I. 1-79, 79a, 80-134, 134a, 135-141 - I. There are two mistakes in the old foliation of the manuscript: number 79 and number 134 are wrongly given twice (see ff. 79r / 80r as well as ff. 135r / 136r ). The DARE-counting represents the correct counting of folios. The extra counting of the pages "79a" and "134a" were added in the 20th century.
  • Collation:
    Part I (ff. 1r- 118v ) : 14IV^111 + III^117. A counting of the layer.
    Part II (ff. 119r- 143v ) : IV^125 + IV^133 + (V-1)^141. A reclaimer for a layer on f. 134v . Continous counting of the layers in red ink.
    One can see, that one layer must be missing in Part II. On f. 126v one can read: "primus". Then on f. 134v somebody wrote: "IIIus". That means a loss of one layer between f. 126v and 127r .
  • Decoration:
    From ff. 1r- 118r the space for the initials is left empty; from ff. 119v- 143r despite using compendia the scribes wrote normal letters into the space for the initials. The counting of chapters in the frist part of the manuscript is made in red, probably by the texthand. Sometimes words or phrases are underlined. The second part has red lombards, headings are rubricated, paragraphs and underlined words or sentences.
  • Layout:
    Text is set in 2 columns. The box of script in the first part has the measures: In the second part the box of script measures

    56-62 lines to the column in the first part.
    45-72 lines to the column in the second part.

    Averroes ' Long Commentary on Aristotle 's Physics: Aristotle 's textus is given in bolder letters than Averroes ' commentary.
  • Hand Description:
    Text is written by multiple German scribes. The first part is written by a single German hand, writing the maintext in a textualis libraria, and the commentary in a cursive libraria handwriting.
    The whole manuscript is carelessly written, but ff. 119v- 143r is slightly better.
  • Provenance:
    The manuscript was part of the inheritance of Konrad of Worms (Conradus Wernheri de Steinsberg alias de Wormacia) to the University of Heidelberg in 1392.
    We can read in the inventory of 1396: "Item commentator super physicorum et in eodem volumine loyca Alberti magni 2° fol. "ad priora" penultimo "similiter et ipsam"
